Mission 1 Walkthrough



Your tour of duty begins in the launch bay at Galcom Headquarters. After 
selecting "launch" you will find yourself on the bridge of the Battlecruiser.

Upon receiving your first orders you will need to click your mouse anywhere 
in the bridge viewer to bring up the command menu. Now select "systems" to 
bring up the computer systems menu, then select "commlink".  The commlink 
automatically scrolls down to the last communication received.  You may need 
to scroll back through the log by clicking on the up arrow to the left of 
the text.

Your first directive is to proceed to the Mars region to ensure the safety
of the diplomats.

Move your mouse to the upper righthand corner of the Commlink screen and over
the spinning GALCOM logo.  This will bring up your systems menu.  Click on
"NAVITRON" to access the Navitron computer.

The Navitron computer will allow you to plot a course to any charted area of
the universe.  Your orders are to proceed to Mars.  The Sol system will be
displayed by default.  Move your mouse over "Mars" and hit "s" on your
keyboard to select the planet.  At the bottom of the screen beside "current
destination", MARS/SOL should be displayed.  Move your mouse to the spinning
GALCOM logo to access the systems menu and click on "LOG OFF" to get back to
the Battlecruiser bridge.

As you arrive back on the bridge, the Navigations officer will inform you
that a course has been plotted.  At this point it would be a good idea to
raise your shields and activate the P.T.A.(Passive Target Acquisition).  
To raise the shields, click on the SHE readout located on the left side of
the HUD (Heads Up Display) to display the shield strength menu.(Select Full) 
Pressing the "p" key will activate the P.T.A.. Hit the "a" key to activate 
the autopilot and you will be on your way to Mars.

Upon arrival in the Mars region, press the "k" key to activate the tacscan 
radar, then press the "l" key twice to activate the target camera on the CVD.
Now press the "," key to scroll through the targets until you get to 
"Diplomat 1". He is probably under attack so press "alt 9" to hyperjump to 
his location.  Once you arrive at his location, press "alt f-1" and "alt f-2" 
to launch interceptors one and two.  Your pilots will engage the enemy to
protect the diplomats.

You now several options.

	1. You can remain in the Battlecruiser, and follow the diplomats
	   until they are safely docked at the Starpath starstation.

	2. You can activate the TACOPS computer and watch the battle.
	   To do this, click anywhere on the bridgeviewer to access your
	   command menu.  Click on Tacops to view the entire region.
	   Zoom in by left clicking towards the action.

	3. Jump into one of the interceptors and help in the fight.  To do
	   this, simply press "alt f-1" to fly interceptor 1.

It's now up to you.  Protect the diplomats and drive off the enemy.  You
are now part of the Battlecruiser universe.
