Star Wars: X-Wing is a 1993 space combat simulator that finally allowed PC players to experience the Star Wars universe from the cockpit of its famous starfighters. Players begin as relatively inexperienced pilots and progress through a series of increasingly demanding missions, flying craft such as the X-wing, Y-wing, and A-wing. The game emphasizes careful flying, target management, weapon systems, and mission objectives rather than simple arcade shooting.
