Cohort 2

Cohort 2 builds on its predecessor with another dose of Roman battlefield strategy, allowing players to command ancient armies through tactical engagements inspired by historical warfare. The emphasis remains firmly on formations, positioning, terrain, and the careful use of different troop types. Success is rarely achieved by simply throwing every available unit at the enemy; keeping formations organized and responding to the battlefield situation is much more important. That gives the game a slower, more considered rhythm than many action-oriented war titles. Its presentation may look austere today, but the underlying idea remains appealing: take command of an army and discover whether your supposedly brilliant plan survives contact with the opposing side. For enthusiasts of ancient military history, Cohort 2 offers a suitably detailed and old-school strategic experience.
