Dino Crisis

Dino Crisis takes the survival-horror formula and makes one very important adjustment: instead of zombies, you get dinosaurs. Because apparently undead people were not terrifying enough. The result is a tense adventure built around exploration, combat, puzzles, and the constant possibility of encountering something considerably larger and hungrier than you are. The dinosaurs are aggressive, fast, and capable of turning apparently safe areas into places you suddenly have no desire to visit again. Ammunition and resources must be managed carefully, while puzzles provide a welcome break from running away from prehistoric predators. The atmosphere is one of the game's strongest qualities, combining scientific facilities with the uncomfortable feeling that something has gone horribly wrong. Dino Crisis is an entertaining variation on survival horror, and its central idea remains wonderfully simple: laboratories are dangerous, but laboratories containing dinosaurs are considerably worse.
