Mental Blocks

Mental Blocks is a puzzle game built around spatial reasoning, pattern recognition, and the ancient videogame tradition of making the player feel personally responsible for every mistake. The objective is to manipulate blocks and solve increasingly demanding arrangements, requiring a mixture of planning and experimentation. The presentation is simple, but that works in its favor because there is very little to distract from the puzzle itself. Early computer puzzle games often had this quality: no elaborate story, no cinematic introduction, just a screen full of shapes silently challenging your intelligence. The difficulty can become surprisingly demanding as the levels progress, especially when a seemingly obvious solution turns out to be completely wrong. It is a modest but satisfying brain teaser, particularly suited to players who enjoy thoughtful challenges and do not need explosions every fifteen seconds.
