Rock 'n Roll

Rock 'n Roll is a 1989 DOS puzzle game that combines rolling-ball mechanics with increasingly elaborate mazes and obstacles. Players guide a ball through levels filled with hazards, switches, moving platforms, and other devices designed to make a simple journey surprisingly complicated. Momentum is important, meaning that controlling speed and direction requires more thought than simply pointing toward the exit. The game has a colorful, energetic style that fits its musical title, while the puzzles become progressively more demanding. Rock 'n Roll is a good example of how a simple concept can produce remarkably addictive gameplay. There are no enormous weapons or complicated character statistics here, just a ball, a maze, and a growing desire to finish one more level. It is proof that gravity can be an excellent game designer when given enough obstacles.
