Whiplash

Whiplash is an arcade-style action game that wastes very little time before throwing the player into trouble. Its fast pace, shooting, movement, and constant stream of enemies give it the unmistakable flavor of early-1990s computer action, where standing still was generally considered a poor career choice. The game rewards quick reactions and a willingness to keep moving, while the levels provide enough variety to prevent the action from becoming completely predictable. Visually, it has the chunky charm associated with DOS games of the era, and its straightforward mechanics make it easy to pick up. What it lacks in elaborate storytelling it makes up for with immediate gameplay. Whiplash is best approached as a pure arcade experience: sit down, grab the controls, start shooting, and accept that your carefully planned strategy will probably last about thirty seconds.
