Ragnarok is a 1993 fantasy role-playing game that combines exploration, combat, character development, and Norse mythology into a substantial adventure. Players guide their characters through a world populated by warriors, monsters, gods, and other inhabitants, gradually becoming stronger while uncovering the mysteries surrounding the story. The game offers the sort of freedom associated with traditional computer RPGs, encouraging players to explore rather than simply follow a straight path from one battle to the next. Equipment, statistics, and tactical decisions all play important roles, so reckless adventurers are likely to discover that courage is not the same thing as preparation. Ragnarok has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned fantasy campaign, complete with dangerous encounters and mysterious places. If the gods are watching, they are probably wondering why you keep walking into obviously dangerous caves.
