From the creators of Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace (1989, DOS) is a gloriously over-the-top animated adventure where timing is everything — literally. You play Ace, a muscle-bound hero trying to rescue Kimberly from the evil Borf, but only if you can survive a series of laserdisc-style quicktime sequences. It’s gorgeous, loud, and completely unforgiving. Miss a move? Enjoy watching Ace disintegrate in technicolor. The humor is pure Saturday morning cartoon, the animation is Don Bluth brilliance, and the difficulty… well, let’s say it’s an exercise in patience. It’s less a game, more a test of reflexes and nostalgia tolerance.
