Spy Hunter is a 1984 DOS version of the classic arcade action game, putting the player behind the wheel of a heavily armed sports car with a very simple mission: drive fast and make sure the bad guys have a much worse day. The vehicle comes equipped with weapons that turn ordinary road traffic into a rather unhealthy environment for enemy cars. Players must dodge obstacles, destroy pursuing vehicles, and survive increasingly hectic stretches of roadway. The game's combination of driving and shooting gives it a wonderfully exaggerated spy-movie flavor, as though someone decided that James Bond needed fewer gadgets and considerably more tire squealing.
