Trolls is a colourful platform adventure that puts you in control of a small hero travelling through a succession of whimsical environments. The game is built around classic platforming fundamentals: run, jump, collect useful objects, avoid enemies, and try not to fall into the latest hole placed specifically to ruin your afternoon. Its bright presentation gives the game a cheerful personality, while the level design gradually introduces more hazards and increasingly awkward situations. There is plenty of old-school charm here, especially in the way the game expects players to learn through trial and error rather than offering helpful instructions every few seconds. Some sections can be frustrating, but mastering them feels rewarding precisely because the game does not make success automatic. Trolls is a straightforward slice of early-1990s platform gaming, best appreciated for its colourful atmosphere, simple objectives, and willingness to make you repeat the same jump until you finally get it right.
