18th Airborne is what happens when a military recruitment pamphlet and a tactical shooter have a baby. You’re thrown into the boots of a paratrooper with a mission, a gun, and maybe a vague idea of what’s going on. The graphics are vintage DOS, which means everything looks like it was drawn with crayons under enemy fire. Missions involve shooting bad guys, blowing things up, and occasionally wondering where the rest of your squad went. It’s simple, it’s loud, and it’s surprisingly fun once you accept the chaos. Realism takes a backseat to action, but hey, nobody’s counting.
