Bloodrayne

BloodRayne combines third-person action, supernatural horror and a heroine who is considerably better equipped for monster hunting than most people. Rayne, a dhampir working as an agent against supernatural threats, battles vampires, Nazis and other unpleasant creatures across a series of violent missions. The game is built around fast combat, acrobatics and Rayne's supernatural abilities, giving the action a deliberately excessive flavour. Her blades, agility and vampiric powers make ordinary enemies look rather poorly prepared for the evening. The story provides a dark pulp atmosphere, while the character design and stylish presentation give the game a distinctive identity. It is not subtle, but subtlety is hardly the point. BloodRayne embraces its gothic action-movie personality with enthusiasm, delivering a colourful mixture of horror, spectacle and unapologetically over-the-top violence.
