In Conflict: Europe, the Cold War goes hot, and you’re in charge of keeping things cool—or launching World War III. It’s a strategy game with a doomsday timer, where each decision feels like it's going to be studied in history books or screamed about on news broadcasts. Defcon levels, nuclear options, NATO planning—it’s diplomacy with a side of annihilation. It's more stressful than it looks, which is saying something, because it looks like an Excel sheet.
ACE (1989): "Conflict: Europe is an excellent wargame which should appeal to beginners as well as experienced players. Conflict Europe help set a standard for wargames to come."
