Cossacks: European Wars

Cossacks: European Wars is a real-time strategy epic that lets you command armies so big you’ll lose track of half your soldiers. Set in the 17th and 18th centuries, it’s a mix of historical battles and freeform conquest, where resource management matters just as much as cavalry charges. It’s as satisfying as it is overwhelming—especially when you realize your entire fleet just sank because you forgot about the enemy cannons.

Cossacks: European Wars review

Power Unlimited (2001): "Cossacks: European Wars heeft ontzettend veel te bieden: enorme battles, uitdagende oorlogsvoering, immense maps en honderden units. Soms slaat het echter een beetje door en wordt de gameplay te lastig."

Retro gamer collector's corner:

The Art of War, released on 1 April 2002, is the first standalone expansion pack. Back to War, released on 18 October 2002, is the second expansion pack, and it can be played as a standalone. Cossacks: Campaign Expansion, released on 1 November 2002, is a piece of downloadable content for Cossacks: Back to War.
