Dark Horizons Lore: Invasion

Jumping forward to 2004, Dark Horizons Lore: Invasion ditches swords and sorcery for giant mechs stomping across futuristic battlefields. It’s a squad-based online multiplayer experience, heavily inspired by the MechWarrior vibe. The action is crunchy, the maps are large, and the combat is all about teamwork—though you can always run off solo and get obliterated in seconds. The game had ambitions to create a persistent online war, but it never really caught fire beyond its niche. Still, for those who were there, piloting a towering death machine in gritty sci-fi warfare was an absolute blast.
