Dark Legions is a 1994 strategy gem that asks: what if Archon got a DOS makeover with bloodier battles? You command armies of fantastical creatures, from vampires to trolls, across grid-based maps. When units clash, the action zooms into real-time duels where you directly control the fight. It’s part chess, part arcade brawl, and wholly addictive. The graphics ooze dark fantasy charm, and the sheer variety of units keeps the battles fresh. The only downside? Watching your carefully laid strategy unravel because you forgot that gargoyles are terrible at holding the line.
