Abandonware DOS title

Darkstone

Darkstone tried to ride the Diablo wave in 1999, and honestly, it didn’t do a bad job. With 3D graphics (impressive for the time) and a soundtrack that takes itself way too seriously, it drops you into a world plagued by an evil sorcerer. Sound familiar? Sure, but it adds its own spice: morphing into a dragon, food that spoils if you don’t eat it, and a narrator who sounds like he’s one goblet of wine away from falling asleep. Still, it’s got charm. If you squint, you can almost see the cult classic it wanted to be—part grind, part cheese, all nostalgia.
