By 1992, Vol. 3 wrapped up the trilogy with even more complex scenarios. At this point, the series had become less of a game and more of an interactive textbook—though that’s not a criticism if you’re the type who finds joy in cross-referencing troop movements. The mechanics hadn’t changed much, but the depth remained impressive. It’s a fitting conclusion for a series that never cared about flash or flair, only about providing the most faithful Civil War experience possible. For hardcore grognards, it’s heaven. For casual players… well, best keep your distance.
