Dragons of Flame (1989) was SSI’s continuation of the Dragonlance saga, following up on Heroes of the Lance. Like its predecessor, it was a side-scrolling action RPG that tested your reflexes and your patience. Guiding a party of heroes through dangerous landscapes sounded epic—but the execution was clunky. Switching between characters mid-fight was more confusing than heroic, and the combat often felt like flailing wildly. Still, for fans of Dragonlance, it was a chance to dive deeper into Krynn and face off against the forces of evil. Frustrating? Absolutely. But undeniably ambitious for the time.
