Electranoid takes the classic Breakout formula, feeds it too much caffeine, and then turns the speed dial to “panic.” This 1995 DOS version is all about reflexes, power-ups, and the constant fear that everything is about to spiral out of control. The paddle feels responsive, the ball feels mean, and the bonuses range from genuinely helpful to “why would you ever touch this?” The visual style is clean and functional, but the real personality comes from its relentless pace. It doesn’t want you relaxed; it wants you alert, tense, and leaning toward the screen. When you fail, it feels fair—brutal, but fair. When you succeed, it feels like surviving a small, colorful disaster.
