Despite its title, Endless Horror doesn’t go for cheap jump scares—it prefers the slow, creeping kind of dread that seeps in while you stare at murky DOS graphics and wonder what on earth is lurking outside the screen’s tiny field of view. Released in 1993, it blends exploration with a sort of “DIY panic” aesthetic. Everything feels just a bit off, and that’s exactly the point. The game’s charm lies in its ability to unsettle you with very little. By the time you finish, you’ll find yourself jumping at shadows in real life, which is arguably the highest compliment a horror game can earn.
