If medieval politics, giant fire-breathing monsters, and backstabbing your allies sound fun, then Gemfire will keep you busy. Released in 1992, this Koei strategy game throws you into a kingdom divided into squabbling provinces. You’ll raise armies, make alliances, and occasionally unleash a magical beast just to spice things up. It’s basically Risk on steroids, with prettier maps and more betrayal. The pacing is slow, but every decision matters—especially when your cousin decides to invade your lands right after you lent him troops. Lesson learned: never trust family.
