Released in 1989, Ghostbusters 2 gives you another shot at wrangling ectoplasm with the world’s most overqualified exterminators. Inspired by the movie sequel, it’s equal parts frustrating and charming. The side-scrolling levels are tough, the controls feel like you’re wrangling ghosts with oven mitts, but there’s something irresistible about capturing slimy foes with your proton stream. It’s not perfect—far from it—but for die-hard fans, the nostalgia goes down easier than a carton of Ecto Cooler.
Zero Magazine Issue 3 (1990) - "All in all, Ghostbusters II is something you're more likely to take a quick peek over someone's shoulder at rather than actually splash out on, and that's not particularly Activision's fault: it's because the whole idea of 16- bit film conversions is, lets face it, a bit crap."
