Mario Bros VGA brings Nintendo's famous plumbers to DOS with colorful VGA graphics and an experience that faithfully recreates the frantic arcade original. The objective remains wonderfully simple: knock enemies onto their backs by hitting the platforms beneath them, then finish them off before they recover and ruin your day. The action quickly becomes delightfully hectic as shells, crabs, and slippery creatures crowd every level. It is easy to learn but surprisingly demanding to master, especially when panic replaces strategy. Even after countless rounds, it is difficult not to smile at the sight of two plumbers treating plumbing as a secondary career.
Cool conversion, it plays smoothly and it's rather faithful to the original.
