Monster Truck Madness (1996) is proof that “subtlety” and “monster trucks” don’t belong in the same sentence. With Microsoft at the wheel, you’re tossed into muddy, chaotic races where gravity is more of a suggestion than a rule. The game mixes arcade fun with just enough physics to make every crash spectacular. Trucks tumble, mud flies, and the crowd goes wild—at least in your imagination, since the actual crowd looks suspiciously like cardboard. Still, with wild tracks and vehicles that handle like caffeinated elephants, it delivers pure, roaring fun.
This was one of the first games I ever played back when I was in preschool. Bigfoot was always my favorite truck to drive and until we lost the CD-ROM this was one game I played more than others. I spent many hours optimizing my racing on all tracks as well as what I needed to get the best performance out of my truck. I love this game to bits and cannot wait to start cruising down a very pixelated memory lane
