Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness is an adventure role-playing game (RPG) developed and published by Sierra On-Line. It was released in 1993 as the fourth installment in the Quest for Glory series. The game was designed by Lori Ann Cole and Corey Cole, who were also responsible for the previous entries in the series.
The game is set in the dark and mysterious land of Mordavia, heavily inspired by Eastern European folklore and horror themes. The story revolves around the player's character investigating the supernatural occurrences in Mordavia and facing the dark forces that threaten the land.

I wanted to like this one, but the technical problems overwhelmed game play, and the numerous replays deadened any pleasure left in it. Initially, the game was released in December 1993 on nine 3.5" floppy diskettes (as were many other Sierra adventures at the time) to accommodate gamers who didn't have a CD-ROM drive.

This was a great fun game to play but the original release was way to buggy and would lock up or crash. There was a patch for it that helped out a bunch. I have no idea if it still exists somewhere.
