Radix: Beyond the Void

Radix: Beyond the Void is a 1995 first-person shooter that combines fast combat with a distinctly futuristic setting. Players control a heavily armed combat vehicle and blast through large environments packed with enemies, weapons, explosions, and plenty of opportunities to discover that standing still is a terrible strategy. The game emphasizes speed and mobility, giving combat a frantic rhythm rather than the slower, more cautious approach found in some shooters of the period. Its colorful environments and varied arsenal help keep the action moving as players progress through increasingly difficult stages. Radix may not have become as famous as some contemporary shooters, but it has plenty of personality and old-school energy. It belongs to that wonderful generation of PC games where every new room seemed to contain either an enemy, a weapon, or an extremely convincing reason to start running.
