Road Rash

Road Rash is a 1996 Windows conversion of the famously chaotic motorcycle racing game, where winning races involves considerably more than simply taking the best racing line. Players speed along highways, dodge traffic, lean through corners, and use fists, chains, and other improvised weapons to discourage rival riders. The combination of racing and combat gives every event a wonderfully unpredictable quality. A perfectly planned race can turn into complete mayhem when a truck appears in the wrong place or an opponent decides to settle the matter with a punch. Road Rash captures the rebellious spirit of motorcycle culture while keeping the action accessible and entertaining. It is fast, noisy, and deliberately ridiculous. Most importantly, it answers a question nobody really needed answered: what if a motorcycle race also allowed everyone to hit each other?
