Sam and Max Hit the Road review

PC Format (1995): "Arguably the finest PC game ever, and re-released at budget price, Sam And Max deserves a place in every software collection. Frankly, adventures don’t come any slicker than this, jokes don't get any funnier, cynicism can't be captured more effectively, and America can't be ridiculed quite as brilliantly - Sam and Max shines in every single respect. The basic premise alone is enough to make a regular PC user go over the edge. Rarely has a game been so tightly scripted. It's damn hard to criticise any aspect of Sam and Max, except to say that the lack of an SVGA mode betrays the game's age, and the misadventures of the madcap pair don't last long enough. But then every good ride has to come to an end some time. Stop reading this right now, and go buy the thing. You'll never be quite the same again."
