Dark, brooding, and a little too serious for its own good, Targhan throws you into a side-scrolling world of swords, sorcery, and moody backgrounds. You play as a loincloth-clad warrior with the agility of a gymnast and the plot depth of a shampoo commercial. The combat’s clunky but oddly satisfying, the environments are lush, and the atmosphere is thick with 1980s fantasy drama. Imagine Conan the Barbarian crossed with Prince of Persia, but everyone forgot to smile. Targhan is beautifully grim—and proudly so.
