The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time continues the futuristic adventures of Gage Blackwood with an even stronger emphasis on cinematic storytelling and exploration. Once again, time travel is at the heart of the action, but this time the journey takes you through several radically different historical and fantastic environments. The game blends environmental puzzles, investigation, conversations, and elaborate rendered scenes into an adventure that feels almost like an interactive science-fiction television series. There is plenty to examine, plenty to question, and more than a few moments when you will wonder why a supposedly advanced civilization still insists on hiding important information behind complicated puzzles. The presentation is very much a product of its late-1990s era, complete with ambitious graphics and dramatic performances, but that gives it a certain nostalgic charm today.
