Timewave Zero

Timewave Zero is one of those wonderfully obscure DOS titles that sounds like it should involve either a scientific breakthrough or a very nervous synthesizer player. Released in 1993, it is a strategy and simulation game built around futuristic concepts, where players must think ahead rather than simply point at enemies and pull a trigger. Its interface and presentation are unmistakably products of the early 1990s, when a few menus and some cryptic statistics could make a game feel enormously sophisticated. It is not the easiest title to approach today, but for players who enjoy unusual ideas and forgotten corners of DOS gaming, Timewave Zero is an intriguing little time capsule.
