Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit brings the familiar board-game quiz format to the computer, replacing cardboard, tiny coloured wedges, and argumentative relatives with a keyboard and a screen. The basic objective remains unchanged: answer questions from different categories, collect the required pieces, and eventually prove that you know an alarming amount about subjects nobody asked you about at dinner. The computer handles the rules and question selection, making it a convenient way to play without needing an actual board and several willing participants. Of course, the age of the question database means some answers and references now feel wonderfully dated, which is arguably part of the charm. It is not a fast-paced experience, but it can become surprisingly competitive when players start insisting that a questionable answer is obviously correct. Trivial Pursuit is essentially a digital pub quiz before the internet made pub quizzes everybody's business.
