Abandonware DOS title

Z

Welcome to Z, the real-time strategy game where psychotic robots with British accents duke it out over territory in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Think Command & Conquer if the developers had a few too many pints and a twisted sense of humor. You don’t build bases or harvest resources — you just send your metal maniacs to shoot, swear, and sabotage until one team’s scrapheap is bigger than the other’s. Fast, brutal, and wonderfully chaotic, Z rewards aggression and quick clicks more than careful planning. Bonus points for voice lines that would make your nan blush.

Z review

PC Games (1996): "But overall, Z's unit variety, incredible level of graphical detail (I simply can't believe the number of things moving about the screen at once), humor and excellent AI make it a top contender in the real-time strategy genre. If you like C&C but found all that Tiberium mining dull, you'll love Z."

Retro gamer collector's corner:

There are 2 main versions for PC use, one for DOS named Z and another one for Windows 95 named Z 95 & Expansion (that give Zeditor and Extension pack with additional challenging levels from 20 to 35. Each of these level are parallel; so 21 is the same kind as level 1 but with a bigger map and all units available).
