The Elder Scrolls series, developed by Bethesda, is a cornerstone of open-world role-playing. It began with Arena (1994), a vast fantasy RPG where players explored the continent of Tamriel. Daggerfall (1996) expanded ambition with one of the largest game worlds ever, procedural dungeons, and deep character customization.
