Hidden Gems: Forgotten DOS RPGs (not) worth playing

Ultima, Wizardry, Fallout, and Might & Magic are among the most iconic old-school RPGs - titles every RPG fan has either played or at least heard of. However, many role-playing games released in the distant past never gained widespread popularity. Some of the RPGs uploaded today on Abandonware DOS are far from well-known; a few have been almost completely forgotten.
Moraff's Dungeon of the Unforgiven
Moraff's Dungeon of the Unforgiven deserves the prize for the most psychedelic CRPG ever created. Don't play this game while drunk or on drugs: the results could be catastrophic.
In Shadowcaster, players assume the role of Kirt, a young man who discovers that he is the last of the Shadowcasters, a powerful group of shapeshifters with the ability to transform into different creatures. As Kirt, players embark on a quest to save the world of Agarna from the evil forces that threaten to destroy it.
One of the game's standout features is its shapeshifting mechanic, which allows players to transform into various creatures with unique abilities.
Legends of Murder: Volume 1 - Stonedale Castle
Quite a peculiar game. You move around a castle looking for adventure. The text description of the room you're in takes about half the screen. The map is so tiny that you can actually count the pixel representing your character.
Cosmic Soldier: Psychic War
If you think the interface of Moraff's World is confusing, you never played Cosimic Soldier. The developers clearly wanted you to see the gorgeous anime-style girl that takes a large part of the screen. The actual game is played at the bottom of the screen.
Shadowlands
Shadowlands is a video game released in 1992 for MS-DOS and Amiga platforms. Developed by Teque London Ltd and published by Domark, it's an isometric action-adventure RPG with puzzle-solving elements. In Shadowlands , players control a party of characters navigating through a dark and mysterious realm known as the Shadowlands. The goal is to explore various locations, solve puzzles, engage in combat with enemies, and uncover the secrets of the Shadowlands.
Escape From Hell
The setting of Escape From Hell is unique: hell. You will meet interesting people like Mozart or Stalin, enjoy a warm weather and the occasional RPG friendly fight. Escape from Hell uses the Wasteland engine.
Daemonsgate
Daemonsgate was one of the first CRPGs for home computers to take advantage of the capacity of the CD... in a bad way. No fancy graphics, no full motion videos: just a huge, dull world to explore and no interesting gameplay features.
