Action games: Platoon, Moonwalker, TekWar, Strider and more

From time to time I browse the Abandonware DOS database looking for not very popular games that need an update. Here are some action games (platformers, shooters, sports games) I just updated with new content.

Tag Team Wrestling

Sports / Action - Developed by Technos Japan - Published by Data East in 1996 for DOS.
Directly from the 80s, when wrestling was a thing, here's a sports game in glorious three colors CGA. Try it if you liked wrestling and if you love CGA graphics.

William Shatner's TekWar

First-person shooter - Developed by Capstone - Published by Capstone in 1995 for Windows.
TekWar is a FPS based on the series of books written by William Shatner (Captain Kirk from Star Trek). Play it if you're a fan of the books.

Dick Tracy

Run and gun - Developed by Titus Interactive - Published by Titus Interactive in 1990 for DOS.
An run-and-gun action game based on a movie which was based on the Dick Tracy comics. Not a great game.

Eye of Horus

Platform action - Developed by Denton Designs - Published by FanFare in 1989 for DOS.
As Horus - the egyptian god of the sky - walk and jump around ancient Egypt. You can also turn yourself into a falcon and fly around just to piss off enemies.

Strider

Platform shooter - Developed by Capcom - Published by U.S. Gold in 1989 for DOS.
The arcade game was very well received as well as numerous conversions. The DOS version wasn't so good. Try it at your own risk.

Platoon

Run and gun - Developed by Ocean - Published by Data East in 1987 for DOS.
Wander happily into the EGA Vietnam jungle looking for trouble in this game based on the Oliver Stone movie Platoon. I couldn't last 10 minutes.

Popcorn

Arcade Break Out clone - Developed by Lacral - Published by Lacral in 1988 for DOS.
Arkanoid (or Break Out, for the ones who remember the Atari game) spawned many clones. This one forces you to painfully wait for on screen animations to end before letting you play. To avoid.

Operation Bodycount

First-person shooter - Developed by Capstone - Published by Capstone in 1994 for DOS.
Another kill'em all FPS. Shoot, run, shoot, shoot, die. Play Doom or Duke Nukem 3D instead.

Pharaoh's Tomb

Platform arcade - Developed by Micro F/X - Published by Apogee in 1990 for DOS.
An old classic Apogee platform game like they don't do anymore. This one is set in Egypt (hence the title). It's still enjoyable if you don't mind the graphics.

Moonwalker

Multi-type action - Developed by Emerald Software - Published by U.S. Gold in 1989 for DOS.
An action game based on the Moonwalker movie with Micheal Jackson. Play it if you liked the movie.
