Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom arrived in 1989 with a simple objective: survive collapsing mines, hostile cultists, and endless hazards without losing your fedora. Based on the arcade version, it is a fast-paced action title that emphasizes reflexes over archaeology credentials. The mine cart sections are especially memorable, turning panic into entertainment with impressive efficiency. While the graphics and mechanics reflect their era, the game retains a pulpy energy that fits the source material. It is not subtle, but then neither was escaping a temple via runaway rails. A solid slice of retro movie action.
