O-Pong is a 1996 DOS game that takes one of the simplest ideas in video game history and gives it another spin. At its heart, it is a variation on Pong, which means two sides, a ball, paddles, and the eternal question of why the opponent always seems to return the shot you thought was perfect. The concept is wonderfully straightforward, making the game easy to pick up while still offering that familiar “just one more match” appeal. O-Pong does not need an enormous story, a cinematic introduction, or a skill tree with seventeen branches. It simply puts the action on screen and lets the competition begin. Sometimes that is all a game needs. After all, Pong has been proving for decades that a moving square and two lines can create surprisingly intense sporting drama.
