If Sorcerer Lord was about controlling armies, Sorcerian (1990, DOS) zooms in to the party level — a side-scrolling RPG that’s as odd as it is ambitious. You build a team of heroes, pick quests, and age over time, literally growing older with each adventure. It’s a wild mix of fantasy and grind, with surprisingly deep mechanics for a game that looks like an 8-bit fairy tale. The music slaps, the monsters are weirdly cute, and the translation is charmingly rough. Sorcerian doesn’t hold your hand, but it rewards patience — and a tolerance for falling into pits. A cult classic in every sense.
