The Three Stooges brings the chaotic comedy of Moe, Larry and Curly to the computer in a collection of slapstick challenges that are much more interested in laughs than dignity. The basic premise is wonderfully simple: help the Stooges make money by completing various absurd tasks and minigames. The humor comes from physical comedy, timing and the familiar personalities of the trio, with plenty of opportunities for things to go spectacularly wrong. It is less a conventional adventure than a collection of comic situations tied together by a lighthearted goal. The controls and graphics are obviously dated, but the game understands that a Three Stooges title should not be overly serious. The Three Stooges is best enjoyed in short bursts, preferably with an appreciation for old-school slapstick and the knowledge that someone, somewhere, is probably about to get hit with a pie.
