Titus the Fox is a colorful platform game starring Titus, a determined fox who must travel through hazardous environments to rescue his girlfriend. The game throws obstacles, enemies and traps at the player with the enthusiasm of a designer who has just discovered that foxes can jump. Movement is quick, the levels are packed with hazards and collecting useful objects becomes part of the challenge. The cartoon-like presentation gives the game a playful personality, while the difficulty can become considerably less playful once the later stages arrive. Titus the Fox has the unmistakable feel of an early-1990s European platformer: bright, energetic and slightly unforgiving. It may not reinvent the genre, but it provides plenty of straightforward jumping and exploration fun. Anyone who enjoys classic platformers will feel at home, provided they are comfortable with the traditional arrangement where the game gives you three lives and expects miracles from all of them.
