Toobin turns the simple idea of floating downstream into an arcade challenge that is much less relaxing than it sounds. You control a character riding an inner tube through winding rivers, dodging obstacles, avoiding enemies, and trying not to become aquatic roadkill. The scenery changes as the journey progresses, and the river itself is effectively the game's conveyor belt, constantly pushing you forward whether you are ready or not. Timing and positioning are essential, particularly when hazards begin appearing with increasing enthusiasm. The concept is wonderfully straightforward, yet the difficulty can become surprisingly fierce. There is also something inherently funny about the whole setup: instead of driving a sports car or piloting a spaceship, you are essentially trying to survive a vacation float trip. The computer version preserves that quirky arcade personality, making Toobin a cheerful little reminder that even recreational swimming can become a matter of life and death.
