The Duel: Test Drive 2 turns the fantasy of high-speed driving into a straight-faced competition between exotic cars, winding roads, and an alarming number of opportunities to discover that physics is not negotiable. The game builds on the original Test Drive concept by offering more vehicles, varied scenery, and a stronger sense of competition. Players must manage speed, braking, corners, traffic, and the occasional temptation to drive like a complete lunatic. The cockpit perspective gives the racing a distinctive character, even if modern eyes may find the visuals rather sparse. What matters is the sensation of being behind the wheel, trying to squeeze every possible second from a route without ending up wrapped around something expensive. It is a classic example of early PC racing design: straightforward, occasionally unforgiving, and more interested in the thrill of driving than in giving you a trophy for participation.
