World Tour Golf is an early golf simulation built around the eternal challenge of sending a small white ball toward a hole while avoiding the temptation to blame the weather, the club or the keyboard. Players must consider club selection, distance and the shape of the course, giving the game a more thoughtful character than its simple presentation might suggest. It is not a fast arcade experience; the pleasure comes from gradually understanding how the different shots behave and learning to play more carefully. The graphics are obviously from another era, but they do their job well enough to make the courses recognisable. For players interested in the roots of computer golf, this is a neat little historical example of how developers were already trying to turn an extremely complicated outdoor pastime into pixels.
