Win, Lose or Draw transforms the popular drawing-and-guessing game show into a computer party game. The concept is immediately recognizable: one player gets a word or phrase and attempts to draw it while the others try to work out what on earth the scribble is supposed to represent. The computer provides the prompts and keeps the game moving, but the real entertainment comes from the people sitting around the keyboard. Artistic talent is optional; confidence is apparently enough. The DOS version naturally cannot reproduce the atmosphere of a television studio, but it captures the basic party-game appeal. It works particularly well when several people are involved, because a terrible drawing can be far more entertaining than an accurate one. If you have ever drawn something perfectly obvious only to hear someone guess “angry potato,” you already understand the essential philosophy of Win, Lose or Draw.
