When Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards debuted in 1987, it introduced one of gaming's most famously awkward protagonists. Larry spends the adventure searching for romance with spectacularly mixed results, usually because his confidence greatly exceeds his common sense. Behind the risqué humor lies a cleverly designed adventure packed with puzzles, witty writing, and memorable locations. Success depends more on observation than luck, although Larry himself rarely appears aware of that fact. His endless optimism remains oddly admirable, even when absolutely everyone else knows disaster is about to strike.
