The game's story revolves around Zanthia, a young alchemist who resides in the land of Kyrandia. The villainous jester, Malcolm, returns with a new evil plan. He has stolen the powerful artifact known as the Hand of Fate, a magical artifact that controls destiny. By taking control of the Hand of Fate, Malcolm disrupts the balance of fate in Kyrandia, causing chaos and endangering the entire land.
