Elevator is one of those early arcade-style games that sounds boring on paper and becomes oddly stressful in practice. You’re navigating elevators, rescuing people, and avoiding enemies in a building that feels designed specifically to confuse you. The controls are simple, the graphics minimal, but the tension ramps up quickly as timing and positioning become critical. There’s something uniquely cruel about missing a rescue by half a second and knowing it’s entirely your fault. It’s a game built on precision and patience, and while it shows its age, it also shows how much could be done with very little. Frustrating? Absolutely. Memorable? Without a doubt.
